About Chef Magdalena
Originally from the northeast, I’ve lived in Carrboro since 2016 and loved every minute! I have a diploma in Culinary Arts from Wake Tech Community College. My cooking experience includes cooking at a vegan dining co-op in Ohio, teaching school-aged kids to cook at a summer camp in Durham, leading classes as a chef instructor at Sur La Table, and cooking for clients in their homes as a personal chef.
My culinary background involves a lot of vegan and vegetarian cuisine, and for that reason, I design my classes to be meat-free. However, I’m not opposed to meat consumption, and encourage you to adapt my recipes in whatever way suits you. I firmly believe that everyone can and should have delicious, nourishing food no matter their dietary restrictions, allergies, or food preferences.
For my cooking classes, I focus on having a variety of nutrient-packed veggies and legumes, and making everything from scratch with high-quality ingredients. That’s what works for me—tell me what works for you!
